Have you ever thought that its just so easy to home made your own crispy pork belly? With the correct method and air fryer, you can definitely get the pork belly as crispy as you want!
Pork Belly
1kg pork belly
1 tbsp white rice vinegar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp cooking oil
Seasoning Mixture
1 tsp black pepper,
2 tsp salt
1 tsp chinese five spice powder
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp italian spices
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp smoke paprika
1 tbsp brown sugar
Seasoning Mixture
- Add in black pepper, salt, chinese five spice powder, garlic salt, onion powder, italian spices, ground cumin, smoke paprika and brown sugar in a bowl, then mix well.Â
Crispy Pork Belly
- Wash the pork belly with clean water and make sure it’s dry enough.
- Place the pork belly on a chopping board, the meat side facing upwards, skin side facing downwards.
- Cut half way from the meat side (not to cut all the way through), continue cut parallel, and the distance between each cut is about 1 inch.
- Turn another way, repeat step 3.
- Once done, Softly sprinkle the seasoning mixture on top of the meat side. Make sure is everly applies to each slit.
- Then, apply evenly to the 4 sides. (Remember not to sprinkle on the skin side)
- Set it aside and it’s time for us to prepare the Aluminium foil.
- Fold the aluminium foil into a box following the meat size, make sure the meat is able to place inside the box.
- Place the meat in the box with the skin side facing upwards. ( wipe of the seasoning mixture if it touches the skin side)
- Then apply the white vinegar evenly on top of the skin side, to take away the excess water from the skin to form a crispy skin surface after it’s cooked.
- Next, sprinkle some salt evenly on top of the skin side.
- Preheat the Samu Giken Air Fryer at a temperature of 200C for 5 minutes.
- Once it’s preheated, place the prepared pork belly into the  Samu Giken Air Fryer and start cooking for another 30 mins
- After 30 mins, take out the pork belly and apply a coating of oil on top of the skin side.
- Preheat the  Samu Giken Air Fryer at a temperature of 200C for 5 minutes.
- Once it’s preheated, place the prepared pork belly into the  Samu Giken Air Fryer and start cooking for another 10 minutes.
- After half 10 mins, take out the pork belly and now you are ready to taste this crispy salty pork belly.
